Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs253508.214 millions in term of various taxes during last six years. "E&T department is proud of this tremendous performance," said Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation, Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, presiding over a meeting at his office, here on Friday. Secretary E&T and Narcotics Control Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh and Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.

E&T Director General Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh said that Rs 27007.312 millions were recovered in fiscal year 2012-13, Rs 32780.445 millions in 2013-14, Rs 35539.566 millions in 2024-15, Rs 43610.092 millions in 2015-16, Rs 53352.209 millions in 2016-17 and Rs 61218.590 millions in 2017-18. The meeting was further informed that Rs 10825.187 millions were collected in term of property tax, Rs 30398.404 millions in term of Motor Vehicle Registration Tax, Rs 186183.372 millions in term of Infrastructure Cess while remaining amount was recovered in other sorts of taxes.

"During last many years, performance of the department had been wonderful and it was expected that in coming years the staff will continue their good performance," Minister Chawla said.
